The second batter from South Africa to hit 150 sixes in One Day Internationals is David Miller. During the South Africa vs. Australia ODI series, which began on September 23, 2026, the left-hander achieved the milestone, becoming one of just a select few South African batsmen to have cleared the rope that many times in the 50-over format.

Over his career, which spans from 2010 to 2026, David Miller has participated in 180 ODIs for South Africa. He has batted in 156 innings over those 180 games, going undefeated 46 times. His 150 sixes have now contributed to his record total of 4,744 runs at an average of 43.12.
Before the Australia series, the milestone was expected. Before the series started, David Miller was reportedly close to hitting 150 ODI sixes, therefore it was anticipated that he would surpass the milestone.
The only South African hitter higher of David Miller on the all-time list is AB de Villiers, who also has the South African record for ODI sixes. During a career spanning from 2005 to 2018, De Villiers hit 200 sixes in 223 games. That mark has remained unaltered since he announced his retirement from international cricket in 2018.
David Miller accomplished the 150-six milestone in fewer appearances than de Villiers required to reach his total of 200, as his 150 sixes came in 180 games. With Miller still playing for his country and de Villiers no longer available to increase his total, the difference between the two South Africans is now 50 sixes. For South African cricket fans, the comparison is interesting since it has a retired record holder and a current hitter who is in form.
With 137 sixes from 163 games throughout a career that started in 2013 and goes until 2026, Quinton de Kock is ranked third on the South African ODI sixes chart. He is currently 13 sixes behind David Miller’s recently attained total of 150 and continues to play international cricket, so there is still room for him to go up the list.

Currently, de Villiers (200), Miller (150), and de Kock (137) are the top three on South Africa’s ODI sixes list. De Villiers represented South African cricket from 2005 to 2018, de Kock was active from 2013 onwards, and David Miller increased his total from 2010 to the current series against Australia. Each of the three hitters contributed to their position during various eras of the sport. The rankings at the top of this list may change even more in the upcoming seasons because David Miller and de Kock are still active.
