Maia Bouchier, an England international was signed by Adelaide Strikers on September 22 for the 2026 Women’s Big Bash League season. For the next WBBL, the 27-year-old batter will play for the South Australian team.

Born on December 5, 1998, Maia Bouchier has played for England in all three formats. On September 4, 2021, she made her T20I debut; on September 9, 2023, she made her ODI debut against Sri Lanka; and on December 15, 2024, she made her Test debut against South Africa. Her multifaceted international experience gives the Strikers’ batting lineup a great deal of depth.
Maia Bouchier will not be unfamiliar with Australian circumstances. Before moving to Adelaide, she was a member of the Melbourne Stars for the 2021–2022 season, so she has a working experience of the demands and pace of the tournament.
Maia Bouchier stated that her decision to join the Strikers was largely influenced by her pre-existing friendship with head coach Luke Williams. Maia Bouchier was obviously drawn to Williams, who has been announced as head coach of the Adelaide Strikers, because of their prior collaboration. I’m thrilled to be joining the Adelaide Strikers and contributing to their already excellent team.
They have established a solid reputation in the WBBL, and I’m eager to do everything in my power to support the team’s success and deep run into the championship game. Additionally, I’m ecstatic to be seeing Luke Williams again. In an official release, Bouchier said, “I’m looking forward to working with him again and getting to know my new teammates because we’ve worked together before and I have a lot of respect for him as a coach.”

Luke Williams, the head coach of the Adelaide Strikers, greeted the signing with warmth, pointing out that Bouchier’s speed at the top of the order and her experience in important international competitions will help the team this season. Maia Bouchier is a remarkable talent who has made a name for herself as one of the most thrilling batters in world cricket.
In addition to her shown ability to score fast at the top of the list, she has invaluable expertise from participating in significant international tournaments.
